The Veil House
A refined modern residence that transforms a complex T-intersection site into a calm, private and beautifully filtered architectural experience.
The Veil House is conceived as a calm architectural presence within a busy urban context. Positioned at the end of a T-intersection, the home responds to a challenging site by shifting both pedestrian and vehicle access away from the direct road alignment. Adjustable vertical screens and layered planting create a controlled threshold, softening noise while establishing privacy from the public realm.
The architectural language is defined by restrained horizontal volumes, a deep stone base, and a dark feature wall that anchors the entry. Timber battens introduce warmth and filtered light, allowing the façade to move between openness and enclosure. Landscape becomes the first reading of the house—an intentional veil that frames glimpses of the architecture beyond.
Through a disciplined palette of white render, natural stone, timber, and black metal, The Veil House presents a quiet yet confident modern identity. The design elevates the living experience, turning a dense suburban setting into a refined and peaceful residence shaped by light, proportion, and greenery.
