The front elevation is carefully composed to create depth and rhythm, balancing privacy with openness and giving the home a more delicate, crafted character. Traditional residential cues are reinterpreted in a lighter and more contemporary way, allowing the house to feel fresh without losing its connection to the surrounding streetscape.
As a flood-affected site, the project also required careful consideration of planning, levels and site constraints throughout the design process. Development Approval has been obtained, and the residence is currently under construction.
The Gable House
A refined contemporary home shaped by gabled forms, light and layered detail.
Located within one of Bulimba’s established Character Overlay areas, The Gable House is designed as a contemporary response to its neighbourhood context. The project retains the familiar language of pitched roof forms and layered street façades, while refining them through clean proportions, vertical battens and a restrained material palette.
